2. Hosting

This website is hosted using Vercel, a hosting and deployment platform operated by Vercel Inc.

When you access this website, technical information may be processed by Vercel to deliver the website and maintain the security and reliability of its infrastructure. This may include your IP address, approximate city and country derived from the IP address, browser and device information, system configuration, request information, and technical log data.

The processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure, reliable, and technically functional delivery of this website.

3. Recipients and international processing

Technical information generated when the website is accessed may be received and processed by Vercel and its infrastructure providers. Zoho is a recipient and service provider in connection with email correspondence through Zoho Mail. Connection data for telephone calls may be processed by the telecommunications providers involved. These providers may use technical subcontractors.

Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Vercel states that it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and uses other legally recognised transfer mechanisms where required.

4. Theme preference

This website stores your selected light or dark appearance locally in your browser. This allows the website to remember the appearance you selected when you return.

This preference is not used for analytics, advertising, or user profiling, and it is not intentionally transmitted to me.

You can remove the stored preference by clearing this website's local storage through your browser settings.

5. Contact by email

When you contact me at hello@alexpetrovici.com , I process the information you provide. This may include the sender's name, sender email address, message content, attachments, and technical email metadata. The purpose is to receive, process, and reply to your correspondence.

The legal basis is generally Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in responding to messages concerning the portfolio and its projects. Where processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you, it is additionally based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

I use Zoho Mail to provide the mailbox for hello@alexpetrovici.com. My Zoho account is assigned to the European Zoho data centre. To the extent that Zoho processes messages, attachments, and technical email data on my behalf, it does so to provide and operate the email service.

Zoho states that service data for an account in the European data region is generally stored in the European Union. In some cases, technically necessary access from third countries may occur, for example when support is provided. Zoho states that the applicable legal and contractual safeguards are intended to be used in these cases.

Email correspondence is deleted when it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was received, unless legal retention obligations or another legitimate reason require longer storage.

6. Contact by telephone

If you contact me by telephone, I may process your telephone number, the date, time, and duration of the call, and information you voluntarily provide during the conversation.

The purpose is to receive and respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is generally Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in direct communication concerning the portfolio and professional opportunities. Where processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you, it is additionally based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

The telecommunications providers involved may process connection data when a telephone call is made.

Telephone calls are not recorded. Call-list entries or notes are deleted when they are no longer required to handle the enquiry, unless a legal obligation or another legitimate reason requires longer storage.

7. External links

This website contains ordinary links to external services, including GitHub, LinkedIn, and project presentation pages. No connection to these services is intentionally established merely by displaying the link.

When you choose to follow an external link, the respective provider may process information such as your IP address and browser data under its own privacy policy.

8. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

This website does not use web analytics, performance analytics, advertising pixels, behavioural tracking, affiliate tracking, or personalised advertising.

No consent-management banner is currently used because the website does not intentionally use non-essential tracking or measurement technologies.

The website does not load third-party fonts, embedded videos, or social-media plugins.

9. Data retention

I do not maintain a separate visitor database. Technical hosting data is retained according to the hosting provider's applicable settings and policies.

Personal data received through email or telephone contact is kept only for as long as it is reasonably necessary to respond to the communication or meet applicable legal obligations.

Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may have the right to:
